| Kids First Paycheck | | My kids started delivering papers a month ago. I help them so it gets done faster,. and also because the routes we do are not right by our house. Well, today, they got their very first paycheck. Actuall, it is all in my name, but they do get their own money. So, the rule I have is that they haveto save for their future and not spend it all. After splitting it all up as needed, all the kids were so thrilled to have money to spend, they had to go to the store tonight. I have to say, I was proud of them. My oldest bought himself a pair of shoes and a t-shirt, my younger son only bought a pair of shoes, my daughter bought sandals and a cheap toy, and the youngest, who is only four, bought two toys. They all left the store with a little left over too. I think that they made pretty good choices today, and I am very proud of them.
So, my question is, when your kids have money, or when you had money as a child, do they/did you spend it wisely, or waste it on needless things? | |

The child would stay with someone and go to school. You would miss taking your child on the first day of school. If it was paid for and you couldn't change the date, would you give it up and stay home for your child or say "he'll be okay and I deserve this" and go? | |

| | Kids first airplane trip - What if they're scared to to fly back??? | | My family is hoping to visit DisneyWorld in Florida in the next year or two. We plan to take a plane (train-too expensive and too long and car is too expensive-gas). My kids are 8, 6 and 3. My concern is what if they get on the plane and flip out? My husband and I aren't the most comfortable fliers either. Do I give them dramamine before we leave (when they might not need it) or wait until we're in flight?Anyone been in this situation? | I asked him to bring his girlfriend to meet the kids first but he said no. | | OK some of you may remember when I posted the last discussion about this called "Should I let my kids go? I need advice" but some of you suggested that I ask him to bring his girl friend up here and meet the kids, So I did, and he flat out said NO He says she cant come up because her baby is sick (she has digeorge syndrome) and she has to see the doctor all the time. BUT the last time I talked to him about the baby he said she had been doing really well and hadn't been going as much. Now what gets me is that he just flat out says NO He doesn't say Let me talk to her about it or anything its just NO. My friend thinks hes trying to hide her not from us as in shes a bad person but that hes hiding her from meeting his family and everyone so that she finds out the true him. so what do you all think? | |
| | My Kids first encounter with a Snake! | | A friend of ours has a Boa constricter. He is very tame. My kids got see him and touch him yesterday. This was the first time they have seen one other than on tv. My youngest was all about it. He wanted to pet it and thought it was cold. My older son didnt really want to till he saw his brother do it and not get eaten..LOL!! They liked him but wouldnt hold him. My husband who is terrified of snakes was no where to be found..LOL. I think he went and hid. One day I will get him to atleast touch a snake. My boys said the next time they would hold him. I did. He is a beautidull snake. You cant see in the pic but whne the light hits him he has an irridesent blue tint to him. Very pretty. Have you ever touched/held a snake? | |
