| Need advice on buying a baby grand | | I am looking to buy a Baby Grand piano and do not want to spend more than $6k. It does not need to be new, but so far I found 2 new ones in my price range and don't know anything about the brands. One is a Pramberger and the other is Hobart Cable. Also, I've heard conflicting opinions about pianos made in China. Anyone have some advice? | |
| | | Waiting for a new life to come into the World. | | I thought I would just tell everyone that I am sitting here writing very very anxiously waiting for a phone call to tell me that my daughter wants us to pick her and her partner up to take them to hospital to be induced so her son can be born.
She is over due. This is made worse because her first child, my dear Grand daughter aged 3 was born 10 weeks premeture and we went through a stage where we thought that we would not only loose our baby Grand daughter but our daughter as well. They had a bad time but now 3 years on both okay and you would never guess she was only 3lb when born. This is why I am so worried about my daughter. Although I do know that any mum worries when her children are going to be parents themselves.
When I was expecting my eldest my Mum wrote a wonderful letter saying what she was thinking while waiting for me to give birth. I didnt read this until my Mum passed away and it was in her bits and pieces. I know when I read it I smiled and said to myself oh you are daft Mum. Now, I am doing exactly the same thing!
So please wish us all the luck in the world and pray all is well with both and yes selfishly that I meet my Grandson today - my first Grandson. x | |

| | Thank you notes/cals/letters | | Do you write thank you notes? I remember as a child many years ago being sat down after Christmas or birthdays and having to write thank you notes to aunts uncles and anyone who had sent us a gift. It was obviously a lesson well learned as to this day I will still often with a letter acknowledge a gift. But I find this appears to be a rare thing. Often we send gifts to my step kids and grandkids with no acknowledgment and recently we sent a gift to a new baby grand niece and no word of thanks. I really like to learn or have ome basic knowledge in learning to play those instruments. I will not really hope to be a professional musician but to have some knowledge will be great.What kind of instrument do you know to play. I really don’t know to play guitar since I don’t have a guitar. We have a piano though I know it’s really common to see piano in every homes, I really like the sound of it but it’s just too loud. That is why is better to play the guitar at night since we can control the sound. Some piano has some way to minimize the sound of the piano so that it will be that noisy but our piano does not have that feature. I really like to play some music in my home. I am not really a good player. I just have some basic knowledge. I am really lazy in practicing so that I will be good at it. I am just interested in humming some songs with my piano. | | Why can't people mind their own business | | I was in the mall today with my grandkids and it was dinner time, so i boutght them french fries with cheese, bacon, chili vegies and sour cream on it. some woman saw me feeding my baby grand daughter and started telling me that in her eyesI was unfit to be raising children because I didn't feed her enough meat and vegies. The baby had already had enough protein, and had had tomatoes, green peppers and onions in an omelette for lunch.
